off to see the wizard

we're just this minute packing up the car to head to LA. thea has another surgery in the morning and we need to arrive at the hospital at 5:30am. keep your fingers crossed and send us lots of positive energy tomorrow.

hanging with papa

papa and thea were best buds this trip, spending quite a bit of time together. so much time that they even developed their own language. zack and i are still trying to decipher what she means when she launches into papa speak. it's great to be home but we miss papananapapa and nanapapanana.

the warmest of welcomes

thea and i arrived in boston this morning and went straight from the airport to lucy and john's place before heading to newburyport. we were greeted by a very grown-up william who is walking and talking. he was extremely excited to see his cousin and shower her with affection. thea was reciprocating for awhile but then became a little overwhelmed by all the love.

at one point william thought that sharing his super cool iPhone would buy him a few more kisses but when he got the cheek, he knew he needed to step it up. the cat and mouse game moved to the fireplace where he tried to entice her with a few of his patented dance moves. it's pretty priceless and well worth the three minutes if you have the time.

i'm so glad john caught the exchange on video, though i don't think i'll ever forget it.

we've got a full day ahead of easter brunching and egg hunting with our little bunny.

no joke

thea has been up for an hour and a half in the middle of the last three nights: 1-2:30a, 3-4:30a, you get the picture. at first i thought it was her cruel version of an april fool's joke, especially since she slept through the night without a peep for the entire month of march. but alas, it's been three nights in a row and it's NOT FUNNY.

hump day

yesterday marked the halfway point of zack's trip to nicaragua and while we're keeping ourselves busy and even managing to have some fun, we miss him a lot!

our friends annie and john have been staying in san diego for the last couple months and it's been so wonderful to have them close by. we've had a lot of time to catch up, eat! and play. i wish they lived here full time [hint, hint] and am so sad they're leaving tomorrow.

annie stayed over and kept us company this weekend since zack was away and even took the 6:30a shift on sunday morning so i could get a little more sleep! needless to say, she and thea are best buds now.

lasting impression

we had a pretty short but sweet visit with aunt phoebe and shaun last week. i'm kicking myself because i barely took any photos while they were here except for a few in the park one afternoon.

ever since they left last tuesday, thea has been saying "excuse me shaun" at least 10 times a day. that phrase elicited such a positive response that is seems she has permanently added it to her greatest hits play list.
